Try Chambok, a community based and managed ecotourism resort located near the Kirirom National Park in Kampong Speu Province. Getting there is thru the same road going to the Kirirom National park around 20 km from the national road. It is about 70 km from the capital Phnom Penh. There is a trail before reaching the ticket booth of the Kirirom resort. Take the rail and exercise extra care if you are driving a vehicle as the road is quite slippery and bumpy. With this type of road condition, the best way to go there is thru a dirt bike. The trail will lead you to the entrance of the site where you can park your motorcycles.
From the entrance, take a trek of more than 3 kilometers before reaching the 40-meter waterfall. It may be far, but walking in the midst of nature is surely a worth taking. Along the way you may find smaller waterfalls where you can stop for a while, take a dip into the cool water, and breathe the fresh air offered by the green surrounding. Ox-cart is also available where you can experience a traditional way of traveling the trail. However, it can only take you up to 800 meters of the road before you start trekking to the site. The place I so serene wherein most you can hear are the chirping of the birds and the water flowing down at the falls and streams. Please don’t forget to bring food and water and setup a picnic there after a long walk. Just remember to clean up before you leave the place.
